1400HP GT-R, because what other car could set fastest drift record!

1400HP GT-R1400HP GT-R, because what other car could set fastest drift record!! Japanese drift champion Masato Kawabata set the record for the fastest drift with a 190mph. This specially modified rear-wheel drive Nissan GT-R Nismo made the fastest 30 degree slide at Fujairah International Airport in the UAE.

The GT-R was modified by Nismo & GReddy Trust. Together they turned the wick up to 1,361bhp and chucked away the front driveshaft to make it RWD. It was tested at Japan’s Fuji Speedway before being flown out to the Middle East, where it set the record on Fujairah’s 3km-long runway.

After all, we don’t get to see 193 mph slip angle stunts too often, do we? With the car still wearing its Dubai plates it was brought to the RAF Cottesmore base. It’s a 1.7-mile runway and if pilots can land jet fighters there, this should be enough for manhandling a car, right?
Wrong. You see, the Spec-D uses a six-speed sequential transmission.

The video you’re about to see shows Youtuber Shmee1500 trying hard not to crash the sideways monster. It’s enough to remember how Le Mans drivers can’t pause their stints to hit the toilet during the race to understand that handling race cars require a bit more sacrifice than most road car drivers are used to. What would you expect out of a 1400HP GT-R that holds the fastest drift world record at just shy of 305km/h?

Well, Shmee says that you have to experience that for  yourself. Sometimes, feelings can’t be described with words. OK, maybe some day.
