Check out this extremely rare 1970 Convertible Dodge Challenger with a 426 Hemi V8! Being one of only 12 produced (9 were for American market and 3 were built for export) it has a rich history and a lot of stories to tell.

It was originally bought in 1970 by an anesthesiologist called Langford Palmer, who was friends with Dodge dealer, Jackson Dodge and he was friends with the owner of the dealership. So,once over a game of checkers, Mr.Palmer said he wanted to buy one, but couldn’t afford it. The owner offered him one at a factory price, and in return he would have to race it on the ¬†streets, in order to gain reputation and bring more customers to Dodge.

Another story says that Palmer eventually sold it to a Ford dealer, who took out the Hemi engine and installed it to his boat! He put a smaller engine in the car and sold it.

Years later, a gentlemen called Jim Lynch ran onto this engine at a machine shop. They were trying to sell it, so he took it and tracked the car through the serial numbers. He reunited the car with its original Hemi engine and brought it for restoration in the late 90’s to Roger Gibson. And they restored it to perfection! Maximum authenticity! It looks same like the day it was manufactured. After so many years and owners, it’s still in top shape!
