A homemade 40W laser shotgun! You might want to put on sunglasses for this!

A homemade 40W laser shotgun! The maker of this insane laser shotgun is YouTuber styropyro who actually has a long and detailed history of messing around with lasers. This time, he made a rig that uses eight 5W lasers which is mounted with parallel beams onto a giant heatsink- all powered by giant lithium polymer battery pack. The result is a legit laser gun that is capable of setting stuff on fire! Stuff like pieces of wood, paper, lastic, etc.

To put the 40 watts of laser power in perspective: the US Navy’s prototype laser cannon that is capable of shooting down drones is 30, 000 watts. All in all, this thing has way less power but I still wouldn’t want it pointed at me. In the video below you’ll see, ping pong balls, balloons, and flash paper all flamed up spectacularly. Well all I can say is that I would love to see it pitted against a red hot nickel ball – just to see how powerful it truly is!

Check it out!
