Every General Lee jump from the show The Dukes of Hazzard!

Every General Lee jumpEvery General Lee jump from the show The Dukes of Hazzard! The General Lee is the name given to a 1969 Dodge Charger driven by the Duke cousins Bo and Luke in the television series The Dukes of Hazzard. It is more than iconic, and I don’t think there’s an adult person out there who is not familiar with its signature horn, its police chases, stunts — especially its long jumps. The car appears in every episode but one (“Mary Kaye’s Baby”).

Every General Lee jump in one video!

The name of the car is a reference to American Civil War general Robert E. Lee. Robert Edward Lee was an American soldier known for commanding the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia in the American Civil War from 1862 until his surrender in 1865. That’s why the car bears a Confederate flag on its roof, and also has a horn which plays the first twelve notes of the song “Dixie”.

Fun fact: For the requirements of the show, they used around 320 1969 Dodge Chargers, most of which were wrecked. Some fans of the show became upset about that fact, and hurried to express their anger online. But ever since the show became popular, the sales of this particular model went to the roof, so, no complaints from Dodge’s side. Take a look at this awesome video of every General Lee jump from the show! Back when there was no CGI and computer work in the movies, just real stuntmen and real cars!!
