At a 1/2 mile drag racing event held on a runway in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, this 2000HP GT-R lost control at 218mph, spinning out and only just avoiding a roll. Thankfully the car did not roll, and only suffered minor damage all things considered.

The owner said that a chute wouldn’t help in this case. And all of the viewers agree that there shouldn’t be a compromise about safety. Clearly there’s not enough cage, no helmet restraint, nothing to keep his head from beating itself to pieces in a roll over. Car that fast needs real safety equipment. If it rolled at that speed, maybe the consequences would be fatal.
Spinning out at 218 mph is for sure absolutely terrifying, especially given the lack of a roll cage in the car. Right about now you’re probably wondering what caused this Godzilla to lose control and almost eat its driver up. According to a comment from the video uploader, TalonTSi97 Videos, the whole thing was caused by a broken aftermarket control arm. Well, whatever the reason is, it’s still very disturbing! Check out this horrific GT-R crash!
