How Mirrors are MadeHow Mirrors are Made

A mirror is an object that reflects light in such a way that, for incident light in some range of wavelengths, the reflected light preserves many or most of the detailed physical characteristics of the original light. This is different from other light-reflecting objects that do not preserve much of the original wave signal other than color and diffuse reflected light.

How Mirrors are Made And The Technology Behind It!

Early mirrors were created by simply polishing a suitable substance until it became highly reflective. But nowadays, mirrors are manufactured by applying a reflective coating to a suitable substrate. The most common substrate is glass, due to its transparency. Then the mirror substrate is first shaped, then polished and cleaned, and finally covered.
