Pagani Huayra drift on frozen lake and sub-zero temperatures!

But even more extreme version called the Huayra BC model debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016. The Huayra BC has an improved version of the standard Huayra’s 6.0 liter V12, twin turbocharged AMG engine. It produces 789 brake horsepower (588 kW) as well as 811 lb⋅ft (1100 Nm) of torque. The dry weight is now reduced to just 1,218 kilograms thanks to a new type of carbon fiber that is 50% lighter and 20% stronger than regular carbon fiber.

Pagani have also fitted the Huayra BC with a lighter titanium exhaust system, new aluminum alloy wheels, and a stripped out interior. All the components are made of carbon fiber, and are add-ons. The Huayra BC also has changes made to body panels to maximize downforce and minimize drag. The Huayra BC uses a next-generation 7-speed manual gearbox, and has an electro-hydraulic actuation. Pagani has stuck with a single-clutch gearbox.

The Pagani Huayra BC is the complex machine. Everything must work perfectly. It also needs to function properly in many different road conditions and including snow. That’s why it’s being tested at the Arctic Circle for the first time in conjunction with Bosch Engineering. Well, Pagani has worked with Bosch for the driving safety and braking control systems in the incredible Zonda, a Huayra and the Huayra BC.

However, now things are being taken to the next level. Jorge Jauregui is the development engineer at Bosch, and his team was sent to northern Sweden for the mission: To test the twin-turbo V12-powered Pagani Huayra drift at sub-zero temperatures. Specifically, Bosch makes the vehicle’s ABS system, traction control system, and the electronic stability control program. Because Pagani is Pagani, the software in all three systems requires a unique configuration.
“This is the only way in which we can exploit the entire safety potential of the software while creating the dynamic handling particular to this brand. We understand Pagani’s requirements in this regard, and we are developing the software accordingly,” says Bernhard Bihr, president of Bosch Engineering GmbH.
