Good to know in case of a flood: Although it looks like the water is not too deep, or that you could swim or walk through it, don’t be fooled. People who are from areas where floods are common know that. The water is potentially toxic, hazardous. There could be uncovered manholes, sharp edges and unstable surfaces. The water is most often contaminated by sewage and other harmful substances. And even if you are a good swimmer, that won’t protect you getting hit by flowing debris.┬áIf it’s not toxic, then it’s alligators and water moccasins you should be watching out for. It’s best that you find a safe spot and wait for help!
