BMW 101 Concept unveiled – Luxury on the open road!
BMW 101 Concept unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. Yes, it is definitely turning heads wherever it goes.
BMW has no intention whatsoever to mess with its concept bikes. They make waves – bikes make it to production. The Concept 90 in 2013 was truly adored by many and it quickly became the very popular R NineT production bike. The same thing happened with the Concept Roadster that provided blueprint for an updated R 1200 R that was recently released. Those two concepts were, of course, debuted at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Como, Italy ‘ thus, the BMW 101 Concept isn’t going to be looked upon as flight of fancy.

The BMW 101 Concept was designed in collaboration with Roland Sands, a famous American custom builder, and has the 1649cc 6-cylinder engine from the K1600GT tourer as its power supplier. That comes out close to 101 in cubic inches; hence the name of the bike.
The hand crafted touches, regarding the design, with the wood inlays in the fairings really stand out. The use of wood is something that signals the luxury of this two- wheeler. BMW is not joking around.
Beyond the looks of the BMW 101 Concept, the engine makes an amazing touring mill, and while it won’t deliver the sensual excitement of a Harley V-twin, it will outperform many, including the Harley, with a superior performance and lots of torque when the pace comes up. All that remains, it for this think to be seen in the production version and the way it’s going to be received by the American market. BMW 101 Concept video below!
