The Chevrolet Corvette C7R is turning heads because it isn’t based on the Stingray that has been fascinating for the past year, but on the Z06 that was revealed along with it at the Detroit auto show. But we must say C7R looks like the racing version of the new C7 Corvette.

This amazing ride shares many performance attributes and  design with the Corvette Z06. Both beasts took an absolute advantage of the engineering expertise and of course, technology. The C7.R uses 5.5 liter naturally-aspirated dry-sump V8 producing about 500 hp, along with its six-speed sequential transmission.

The C7R is about three inches lower and almost five inches wider that usual street cars. Its suspension is a double wishbone with fabricated steel, upper and lower control arms, with adjustable coil-over shocks.
