GTR engine inside of Infiniti Q50 Concept, 560hp Sedan!!
Infiniti Q50 Concept, the performance sedan which premiered at the North American International Auto Show, would’ve offer a tantalizing glimpse of potential future performance models. The concept would’ve combine two of our passions – executive luxury on the road, and performance prowess on the track. Lightweight carbon fiber on the front and rear bumpers, side sill skirts, roof and door mirror casings, plus a dual-exit exhaust sports system with chrome finishers, it all contributed to the prototype’s bold and confident look.
This sedan should’ve been powered by a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine with 560hp and a predicted top speed close to 180 mph. And, the best part: 0-60 mph in only FOUR seconds. Power is sent to all wheels through 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The inspiration for this vehicle was the very pinnacle of motorsport competition, Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s RB10 racecar. But, the most important question that was troubling us for months was, will it make it to production? Well, we’re sorry to disappoint you, but no! Infiniti vice-president Francois Goupil de Bouille stated: “After we evaluated sales numbers, we realized it was not realistic to produce it. It was just too costly. That was it.”. We at Ridingmode, couldn’t have been more sorry! Let’s watch the review once more!
