MX3D’s robots to 3D print a steel bridge in Amsterdam!! 3D printing started out with small plastic structures but, over the time, it has moved on to more complex and more solid things. But, are 3D printing options endless? Will the next step be infrastructure?

Nobody knows for sure but, the company MX3D intends to do that. Joris Laaram and Autodesk will be helping the company with the project by providing the software. The goal is to use robots to 3D-print a steel bridge! That basically means creating a bridge out of thin air! Awesome, right?

However, the thing that is particularly challenging is that the robots will be printing their own supporting structures, which means that even a tiny early mistake will be fatal. In the video you can see some of the creation process. The beginning of the printing was set for September 2015!
