The wild side of the electric cars: Can the Tesla model S make some cool drifts?

Tesla model STesla model S

Many videos proved that the Tesla Model S P85D can take on many challengers in a straight line. However, we really wanted to know if this electronic car can take on other forms of automotive hooliganism and here is our answer. Drifting requires a car that is rear-wheel drive with enough power to keep the rear wheels spinning no matter the conditions. The rear wheel drive of the Tesla happens to meet both of the criteria so, is this car capable of doing some drifts?

The wild side of the electric cars: Can the Tesla model S make some cool drifts?

Apparently, it is. The professional Japanese drifter, Nobuteru Taniguchi, takes a Model S at an even in Japan for a spin around the course. Of course, he got plenty of sideways action! The car doesn’t pull off the most graceful drift but, it does stay sideways and makes a lot of tire smoke in the process. Taniguchi said that the Tesla Model S may not be the perfect car for drift but, he had more fun with it than expected.  See it in action!
