Trans Am Bandit – Burt Reynolds’ black and gold masterpiece!

Trans AmTrans Am Bandit only for those who enjoy fancy cars. Or so it seems.

With the Pontiac no longer being around, it’s great to see Burt Reynolds’ Bandit Trans Am. What is all this about? The folks at Trans Am Depot have launched a new edition inspired by the famous black and gold example that starred in Reynolds’ 1977 hit movie Smokey and the Bandit.

Back then, the design was truly on point so, what are we to expect now?

It’s called the Trans Am SE Bandit Edition, and the company plans on building only 77 examples . This will represent the year of the movie’s release as well as the model year of the car featured on screen. The company has built similar cars in the past but what makes the latest so special is that the actor, Burt Reynolds was involved in the design and development. Each of the 77 cars will also bear his signature.

Burt Reynolds’ Bandit Trans Am, designed by himself!

Trans AmThe really cool and fun part about these cars is that they’ll come with a genuine t-top roof and a General Motors Company small block V8 laying under the hood which will deliver 840 horsepower. The folks behind this build along with the donor Camaro made sure that there are numerous visual tweaks to it. Thus, with the work they have put in this thing, it resembles the design of the ’77 model. Of course, there’s also a big bird plastered on the hood that proves that on first sight.

Pricing starts at about $115,000, which includes the cost of the donor Camaro. The Trans Am is becoming hugely popular, so if you’re trying to get your hands on one of these, better hurry! These beauties won’t hang around much without a proper owner. The look of the Bandit Trans Am screams luxury and power. Who wouldn’t like it?;) Check it out!
